Meeting called to order at 6:09.

Board members present: Jim Penn, Eric Zey, Ron Moerbe, Jason Hemsley,

Stacy Colvin, Bruce Reeh.

BUSINESS

Jim welcomed all attendees and briefly outlined the purpose and agenda for the

annual meeting. He explained that according to our Bylaws all attendees are

members and as such have voting rights at the annual meeting. He stated that

the Board of Directors would like the members to vote on a few topics this

evening. These topics include two changes to the Bylaws and new applicants

for director. He explained the current Bylaws restrict current directors to no more

than 2 consecutive 3 year terms. He asked members to vote to permanently

remove these restrictions. Stacy made a motion to proceed and Bruce

seconded it. The members responded with an affirmative voice vote. He also

explained that the current Bylaws have no restriction on how long an officer may

serve. Jim asked the members to vote that the Board will elect officers every

three years. Stacy made a motion to proceed and Bruce seconded it. The

members responded with an affirmative voice vote. He explained that we

currently have 7 active Directors and there is a need for new directors. Jim then

asked if there were any new director applicants. Stacy responded with

affirmation and nominated a list of applicants: Houston Haley, Clay Sears, Tracy

Staats, Robert McCall, Lindsey Gray, Stephen Knight. This was seconded by

Eric Zey. Jim asked the members to vote on the new members. The members

responded with an affirmative voice vote.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND PLANS

Jason explained that in 2022 we held 10 clinics and several competitive events

including Drive, Chip, and Putt [DCP] competition where we had 32 golfers. We

also expanded the US Pathway program to advance golf skills and currently has

23 golfers enrolled. In addition, the Foundation awarded 4 scholarship’s to

college bounds students in 2022. Jason announced that we will continue with

these programs and try to integrate our Golf program with Boys and Girls Club.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Eric discussed our scholarship program and defined the process. He thanked

the selection committee which included - Marc Williamson, Annette Lukacs,

Peter Schandua, and Bradley Finley. Eric also mentioned that the Foundation

has awarded $27,000 in scholarships to date. The 2023 Junior Golf Foundation

scholarship recipients are Bailey Pullin – HISD; Gracie Alford – FISD; Braydon

Durst – FISD; and Jake Roberts – Heritage.

STUDENT GOLFERS

Jim mentioned that the Fredericksburg Middle School had a great golf season.

The boys team participated in four tournaments and won them all. The girls

played in five and won first place in four and second place in the other.

Jim introduced the FHS boys and girls golf team coaches – Head Coach Tim

Kaman and Assistant Coach John Hext. Coach Kaman introduced the boys and

girls golf teams and congratulated both teams on their season. While pleased

with their results, the coaches are very excited about next season as most of the

players return on both teams. For the girls team, the BATTLIN BILLIE award

was presented to Audrey Benfield. Ms. GOLF went to Jaley Itz. For the

boys team, BATTLIN BILLIES went to Lewis Milton and Shepherd Findley.

Mr. GOLF went to Lincoln Staas.
