CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 5:33, Lady Bird Club House

PRESENT: Leonard Bentch, Jim Penn, Chris Meade, Eric Zey, Ron Moerbe, Brian Fairchild (phone). Guests: Jason and Keri Hensley.

MINUTES: Minutes of January meeting approved as electronically distributed

NEW BUSINESS:

Strategic Planning: Jason presented SWOT chart and Boost/ Grow Initiatives documents. General discussion concerning the elements presented.

Motion approved to update primary mission: Support Championship Golf Program at FHS.

Primary mission: Support FHS Championship Golf Program

Amend Mission Statement

Discuss options for full time golf coach with new Athletic Director

Research UIL rules re: Booster club administration, funding, scholarships, etc.

Review and update criteria for Scholarship Program

Adjourn: Meeting adjourned at 6:36. Next meeting will be held on March 9.

Boost/Grow initiatives

Initiatives that support our mission:

Boost Golf

· Act as “Booster Club” for high school golf programs

· Provide apparel and equipment to middle and high school golf programs

· Promote achievements and tournament results of school golf programs through our social media sites

· Sponsor and fund FHS end-of-year golf celebration

· Provide Academic scholarships to Hill Country seniors that participated in high school golf

Grow Golf Involvement

· Provide Short GolfTM equipment and games for local primary and elementary schools to implement golf as part of the regular P.E. curriculum

· Promote and fund clinics led by PGA Professionals who instruct juniors on golf mechanics, strategy and rules

· Provide golf clubs and bags for juniors to use during clinics and play at LBJGC

· Promote and manage golf events for juniors like Drive, Chip and Putt

Golfer Development Program

· Sponsor competitive golf events between select teams in the Hill Country

· Provide access to individual instruction for those individuals who demonstrate the desire to improve

· Support participation in additional tournaments/competitive events

Investments in Junior Golf

· Golf Trailer to FHS

· Apparel to FHS girls and boys team annually

· Rain gear, range finder, umbrella, back packs, etc to FHS girls and boys

· Pull carts to FHS girls and boys

· Apparel to FMS girls and boys

· Yard clubs to FMS

· Short Golf to FPS, FES, Stonewall, Heritage, St. Mary’s, Ambleside

· US Kids clubs for clinics

· US Kids clubs and bags for play at Lady Bird
