Clinics

Temporarily suspended until mid March due to weather considerations.

Clinics will be held on Friday and Saturday alternate weeks.  Plans for wide publication through Newspaper, Facebook, and all websites (School, Lady Bird, Boot Ranch and Foundation).  Chris suggested we recruit a high school student to post items to Instagram since this is most highly utilized by students.  Jim will speak to Tim and John about a possible candidate.  Clinic equipment has been ordered and is being readied for shipment.

Fundraising

Jim noted it is imperative that we choose a date for the annual golf tourney now since businesses are planning their budgets.  He plans to speak to Emil Hale at Boot Ranch next week to firm up a suitable date and publish immediately.  Once a date is chosen, Jim will craft a letter to all donors, sponsors, etc. announcing the date, highlighting 2018 achievements and 2019 plans. It was suggested that our big plan is a Golf Haus that we would fund construction on FHS property.  It was also suggested that we would need to fund maintenance of the Golf Haus.

Jim also announced a new fundraising campaign called “Birdies for Billies”.  We will solicit donations for every birdie that Hal Sutton makes on the Champions Tour. Boot Ranch will track and publish Hal’s performance after every tournament.  This was done a few years ago and raised enough money to buy new playground equipment for FES.

Corporate/Governance

Bruce has updated the Bylaws and is waiting for final review and approval. Eric suggested using a spreadsheet for financial reporting at this time.  We can consider something more sophisticated like QuickBooks later.

Marketing

Jim will submit our logos to ensure no patent issues.  We discussed updating the Foundation website using Squarespace vs Wordpress.  Chris suggested that Ines (Jim’s niece) and Cristina work directly to share photos and ideas.  We should have a mock-up of the website for the next meeting.

Janie mentioned that Coach Kaman uses Twitter to communicate to his social network.  It was suggested that we could approach him about posting some of our information.

New Business

The annual membership meeting is scheduled for March.  Date and agenda to be determined.

Current board members were requested to identify board member candidates and be prepared to discuss at the next meeting.  It was suggested that these candidates should have skills that will fill our needs (i.e. account, social media, fundraising, etc.)

Meeting adjourned 6:30
